National Pawn owner Bob Moulton donated more than 100 instruments to theD.C.Virgo Academic Academy as well as a $2,000 check to the school district for repair and maintenance costs.  “I am a proud former ‘Band Geek’ who knows first hand what it is like to want to learn how to play, but not have an instrument,” said Moulton.  Moulton, who bought his first instrument at a yard sale and later upgraded at a pawnshop, donates instruments yearly to area school districts.  Last year he donated over 400 instruments and $6,000.  With this latest donation, this year’s count is over 500 instruments and $8,000 cash.  In the last several years, educational cuts have been particularly hard on the arts and music programs, but Moulton and National Pawn are trying to make a difference.  “I want to help as many students as I can to realize their dreams of becoming musicians,” said Moulton.
